What a strong little tree! This tree kept most of its leaves throughout winter. Honestly, I blame myself for the frost damage. This tree was fine all through the fall and winter frosts. Our winter low was about 18-20 F, which was when I covered the tree with some busted greenhouse plastic. I left the plastic on for the week of snow and then ripped it off with no transition whatsoever. Hence why I blame myself for this frost damage! I provided no other cold/frost protection but did mulch heavily with straw and Angora rabbit fur. This picture was taken early spring (4/11/25), and there is so much new growth happening!
