The tree did not grow at all during the summer/ early fall. It dropped all its leaves and appears to be dying from the top down. Earlier in the season there was an earwig infestation that may have stunted the growth or perhaps the tree does not like the location/soil conditions. In any case the tree doing quite poorly.
